Shrivatsa is a symbol which has significant meaning in different faiths.
In Hinduism, Shrivatsa means “beloved of Shri”, the goddess Lakshmi. It is a mark on the chest of Vishnu where his consort Lakshmi resides. At Vidhyodevatha, we see it as the bond between students (past, present, and future) and our beloved school.
In Buddhism, Shrivatsa is one of the eight auspicious symbols. It is the endless knot representing the intertwining of wisdom and compassion. Vidhyodevatha seeks to give that symbol expression by recognising one’s blessings and sharing the blessings with those who need them.
